Ingredients
- 2 Betty Crocker Velvety Vanilla Cake Mix
- 180ml Vegetable Oil
- 6 medium eggs
- Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple strong food colourings
- 3 tubs Betty Crocker Vanilla Buttercream
- Rainbow Sprinkles
Method
1. Empty both packets of cake mix into a large mixing bowl.
2. Add the oil and all 6 eggs, whisking until a smooth batter is formed.
3. Divide equally between 6 bowls. Add a single colour to each of the 6 mixes, stirring through until a bold colour is formed.
4. Add mixes to 6 lined 8” cake tins, bake in 2 or 3 batches at 180ºC for 10 minutes.
5. Allow to cool in the tin for 15mins before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
6. Begin stacking cakes with a 1/2cm layer of vanilla buttercream between each layer in the
order; purple, blue, green, yellow, orange and finishing with red on top.
7. Cover the entire cake with a generous layer of vanilla buttercream and smooth out.
8. Decorate with your favourite sprinkles.
