National Picnic Day Recipe: Peanut Butter Bars

Ingredients
- 100g granulated sugar
- 340g honey
- Half a teaspoon of salt
- 500g peanut butter
- 100g Rice Krispies
- 115g butter
- 100g Barbados cane sugar
- 315g icing sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla flavouring
- 2 x medium saucepan
- 1 x large baking tray
- Greaseproof paper
Method
- Heat up the granulated sugar, honey and salt in the saucepan until the sugar dissolves.
- Stir the peanut butter through thoroughly
- Stir in the Rice Krispies
- Lay out the greaseproof paper on the baking tray and spread out the mixture on top
- In a separate saucepan, melt together the butter and brown sugar
- Add the milk, vanilla and icing sugar
- Mix, then spread over the top of the Rice Krispies mix in the baking tray
- Wait until everything is completely cool, then cut up into bars
B&M Top Tip: Keep the bars wrapped in greaseproof paper in tupperware and a cool bag to prevent them getting squashed or melted.
