Guest Recipe: Toffee Apple Bread & Butter Pudding

Bonfire Night is a time of fireworks, sparklers and yummy food! Hot dogs, mushy peas, jacket potatoes and yummy fillings, but what’s for pudding?
How about this yummy Toffee Apple Bread and Butter Pudding? It even has a decandent bonfire toffee topping – perfect for warming you up after an amazing (but chilly) firework display!
Just follow Mummy Snowy Owl's simple recipe instructions below for a truly indulgent dessert that's sure to be a blast with the whole family.

Ingredients
- Butter or sunflower spread (for greasing)
- 8 slices of bread
- 420ml apple sauce
- 200g bag of toffees
- 1 egg
- 100ml milk
- 1 tsp of cinnamon
- 200g of bonfire toffee
Method
- Pre-heat oven to 180°C/356°F/Gas Mark 4
- Start by greasing a pan or dish with the butter or spread. Next, butter the 8 slices of bread.
- Add a nob of butter to a pan and melt on a low heat. Once melted add the toffees and stir regularly as they melt into a toffee sauce.
- Place a layer of bread into the bottom of the dish and spoon over a layer of the apple sauce, spreading it out evenly as you go. Then drizzle over half of the toffee sauce.
- Add another layer of the bread and butter, a layer of apple sauce and drizzle over the remainder of the toffee sauce.
- Add one final layer of buttered bread.
- Beat the egg and milk together and pour over the top layer of bread and butter, and sprinkle on the cinnamon.
- Melt a knob of butter and the bonfire toffee over a low heat and drizzle over the top layer.
- Bake for 30-40 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve on its own or with custard for a yummy and warming Bonfire Night pudding!
