Category: Chicken,Christmas
Ingredients
-
Yorkshire Puddings
- 150g Plain Flour
- 3 Eggs
- 300ml Milk
- 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil
- 4 Chicken Breasts
- 2 tbsp Thyme
- 2 tbsp Oregano
- 2 tbsp Garlic powder
- 1 tbsp Paprika
- 1 tbsp Vegetable Oil
- 200ml Gravy
- 100g Stuffing Mix
- Cranberry Sauce
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
- Combine the eggs, milk and flour to make your Yorkshire pudding mix. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes (or overnight).
- While your batter is chilling, put your vegetable oil into a shallow cake tin and place that in the oven.
- Prepare your chicken with salt, pepper and the rest of your seasonings. Coat in the oil then place in a roasting pan and put it into the oven for 30 minutes.
- Put your stuffing mixture into an overproof dish and mix with boiling water. Place this into the oven to cook for 20 minutes.
- While your chicken and stuffing are cooking, prepare your trimmings. Mix the gravy with boiling water and place on the stove on medium heat to keep warm.
- After your chicken and stuffing have finished cooking, turn the oven up to 220 degrees. Take the cake tin out of the oven and pour in enough Yorkshire pudding batter to coat the bottom. Put it back in the oven for 10 minutes.
- Take your Yorkshire pudding out and place it on a kitchen towel. Take another kitchen towel and pat it down, forming a wrap. Repeat this process to make as many wraps as you need.
- Assemble your Yorkshire Pudding wrap, putting everything inside and wrapping it up.
- Enjoy! Add foil to the bottom for an easier eating experience.
If you really want to impress you can add even more elements of a traditional roast, turkey breast can replace the chicken for a more authentic festive taste. Roast potatoes can be added for that extra crunch. A couple of pigs in blankets would never go amiss for meat lovers.
For the vegetarians amongst you, try adding parsnips and carrots and switching the meat for a nut roast.
This recipe is simplified but everyone has their idea of a perfect roast so don’t be afraid to make it your own.
