American Style Strawberry and Nutella Pancakes

Whether you like your pancakes thick or thin, sweet or savoury or a combination of both, our American style pancakes will allow you to be as adventurous as you want to be. Although we’ve gone for dessert pancakes, there’s no reason why you couldn’t substitute the strawberries and chocolate spread for bacon, eggs and maple syrup – the perfect brunch. Either way, you will love our fluffy creation.

Ingredients
- 300g self-raising flour
- 150g caster sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 200ml milk
- 2tsp vanilla
- 200g strawberries, washed and sliced
- 150g chocolate spread
- 1x non stick pan (2 to speed up the process)
Method
- In a bowl, whisk together the vanilla, milk and eggs for 30 seconds or until all the wet ingredients are well mixed.
- In another bowl, combine the flour and sugar.
- Slowly stir in the wet mixture to the dry mixture ensuring to keep whisking so that lumps don’t form.
- Once a smooth batter forms, place it into a jug and set to the side.
- Heat your pan on a medium heat, with the oil if preferred.
- Pour 1/12 of the batter into the pan – this will be approximately 65g.
- To speed up the process, you can use two pans so the pancakes cook simultaneously.
- Cook on each side for 1-2 minutes depending on the thickness or until the surface of the uncooked side of the pancake is covered in small bubbles.
- Repeat until you have all of your pancakes.
- Finish off by spreading the chocolate spread (50g per portion) onto each pancake layer and topping off with a layer of strawberries.
