Customers in Wolverhampton were delighted this morning following the long-awaited opening of their brand new store in The Mander Centre.
More than 45 people from the local area have been employed at the store, which contains a wide range of branded products, including toys, food & drink, homeware, pet products, health & beauty and seasonal.
As part of the opening day process, colleagues nominated local charity, Base 25, to be given some VIP treatment. They helped unveil the new store with the local Deputy Mayor, Greg Brackenridge.
The charity work with young people in the local community to help them reach their full potential. They do this through a variety of services such as anger management, counselling and much more.
In addition to helping to open the new store, the hospice were given £250 worth of vouchers to spend.
The store manager, Preyesh Purohit, said: “The team at Base 25 really stood out for us as they go the extra mile for local people in the community, we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work they do.
“We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”
He also commented: “Our new colleagues have been working really hard to get the store ready for opening day, we can’t wait to get the doors open on Saturday and show customers their brand new B&M.”
