Success for Slough as New B&M Opens in Town
21 April 2016
B&M opened their second Slough store today, highlighting its increased presence in the south of England.
The new Homestore, based on Slough Trading Estate, will feature a wide range of B&M’s high quality branded and own label products.
As well as groceries and electrical items, shoppers will also be able to browse a substantial choice of furniture, DIY, toys and seasonal ranges.
B&M’s newest store has created more than 50 jobs for local people, thanks to the variety retailer’s desire to recruit locally.
Store colleagues invited along representatives from Slough Homeless our Concern (SHOC) as their Local Hero for the day.
SHOC is a day centre that exists to provide care for the homeless in Slough and those at risk of becoming so.
It is the only centre within a 20-mile radius that offers the homeless both crisis care and long term transformational help towards independence.
Gerald Kamanu, store manager at B&M Slough, said: “We’re feeling really positive about the creation of new jobs for local people and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.
“We have all been really excited to get the doors opened and to finally welcome our new customers through the door today.”
The fun extended well into the weekend, with B&M’s brand new game show helping to entertain visitors to the store on Saturday.
The Slough opening coincided with new store’s also being opened in Armthorpe and Ashington on the same day – showcasing why the variety retailer is one of Britain’s fastest growing.
