Second Durham Store Sees Jobs Total Rise to 115
29 November 2014
B&M have invested in local employment in County Durham with the opening of its second store on Saturday.
Having secured new shop premises at the former PC World on the Durham City Retail Park, the new B&M Bargains store has created up to 30 new jobs for local people.
Hundreds of shoppers passed through the store on its first day of business and were delighted to find a wide variety of branded and own label products from its convenient location on Macintyre Way.
Customers can expect to find everything from cleaning and health and beauty as well as an extensive non-food section including toys, home, electrical and seasonal ranges.
Mark Pedalty, Store Manager at B&M Durham Macintyre said: “B&M is committed to recruiting from the local area and I am delighted we’ve found a great team from in and around Durham. We’re really proud to have created another 30 jobs this year as we continue to play our part in the local community.”
Mark adds: “We have a team of colleagues who are willing to provide great value products and world class service to our customers”.
The new B&M Durham Macintyre store follows hot on the heels of this year’s new B&M at Consett which opened at the former Tesco last week. The two stores have seen a combined total of 115 jobs created across Durham in just 10 days.
