RNLI Makes a Splash at New B&M Store Opening
05 December 2014
The RNLI were on hand for the unveiling of a brand new B&M store which opened its doors in Tynemouth today.
The local charity were invited as special guests for the grand opening of the new B&M Bargains store which opened on Friday morning.
One of the UK’s leading variety retailers, B&M has created another 50 jobs in North Shields having secured new shop premises at the Coast Road Retail Park in the town.
Customers can expect a wide variety of branded and own label products from its convenient location at the former Wren and Poundstretcher stores including groceries and toiletries as well as an extensive non-food section including toys, soft furnishings, home and seasonal ranges.
Representatives from the Tynemouth branch of the RNLI were nominated by store colleagues to cut the ribbon and received £250 worth of B&M vouchers as a thank you for opening the store. The charity were welcomed by store manager Marie Rycroft to stay for the day and help bag pack for the first B&M customers; raising further money for the charity on the store’s first day.
Marie, store manager at B&M Coast Road said: “B&M is committed to recruiting from the local area and I am delighted we’ve found a great team from in and around North Shields for our second store in the town. We’re really proud to have created another 50 jobs this year and continuing to play our part in the local community.”
Marie added: “We’re delighted to have finally opened our doors in Tynemouth. We have a team of colleagues who are willing to provide great value products and world class service to our customers”.
The new B&M store will not be the last in the north-east. The Coast Road store follows hot on the heels of this year’s new B&M at the Peel Centre in Sunderland, the extended store at the Newcastle St James Retail Park and the forthcoming B&M in Gateshead which also opens this month.
