Put Your Name in Lights by Naming B&M’s New Store Section
01 April 2017
There's been many questions which have stood the test of time: Chicken or egg? Why did the chicken cross the road? Cake or biscuit?
We’ve never quite worked out for definite what a Jaffa cake is… it’s definitely a cake… but it’s also a bit biscuity!
What about a Viennese Whirl? We have literally no idea, and it looks like our customers aren’t too sure either.
Fortunately, you can vis-count on B&M to get to the crumbs of a problem, so after a huge debate about what products were classed as cakes, chocolate and biscuits broke out in the B&M Buying Office, we took to our social platforms to ask for our fabulous fans opinion.
Twitter is no stranger to this heated debate, with the World Cup of Biscuits causing chaos and controversy the likes of which has never been seen before.
Reactions were mixed, and things began to snowball over the course of 2 days - with us still no closer to a decision.
As a result, B&M have decided to introduce a NEW section into stores to stop customers and store colleagues from squabbling in the aisles over what should go where.
Some of the tasty treats in the new section will include McVities Jaffa Cakes, Cadbury Mello, Wagon Wheel, KitKat, Viennese Whirls and so much more.
Biscuit buyer, Danny, said: “We’ve always been aware of the Jaffa Cake debate but we couldn’t believe how many people couldn’t decide if a KitKat is a biscuit or chocolate or whether a Viennese Whirl is a biscuit or a cake – the list was endless!
“With the majority of the office in a heated debate and online users undecided, we thought it’s about time that we created a new area for these products – we just couldn’t decide what to call it.”
There are plans to add the new section into all 500 plus B&M stores nationwide over the next few months, but at present the section remains unnamed.
In an unprecedented move, the company are reaching out to their fanbase and asking customers to suggest ideas for this new section.
In order to get involved, simply head over the B&M Facebook and Twitter pages where you can weigh in on the debate and help B&M name the new section.
