Penzance Profits From First B&M to Open in Town
22 September 2016
B&M has continued its phenomenal growth after the opening of the new B&M Penzance store on Thursday.
More than 85 new jobs have been created as a result, helping to provide a welcome boost for the local economy.
The new B&M Home Store & Garden Centre is the variety retailer’s first store in the town, bringing the retailer’s wide range of branded and own-label goods to a whole new community.
Alongside the large variety of toys, food and drink, pet products and much more, shoppers will also be able to visit the garden centre where they’ll be able to find everything a keen gardener needs.
B&M Penzance is based at the former B&Q on Longrock Bypass, and will also boast an extensive DIY, decorating and furniture selection.
Local representatives from RNLI took centre stage by officially unveiling the new B&M store alongside the local mayor, Councillor Michael Lovegrove.
Chosen by B&M colleagues as B&M’s Local Hero, the RNLI representatives also received £250 worth of B&M vouchers as a thank you for opening the store.
Ian Brant, store manager at B&M Penzance, said: “The RNLI crew really stood out for us as they go the extra mile for the community - we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work they do.
“We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”
He also commented: “We were all really excited to get the doors open and welcome our new customers through the door”
Customers will also be able to enter the B&M Big Prize Bonanza, a free game show taking place at the store on Saturday 1st October to carry on the atmosphere.
Those who enter will be in with a chance of winning prizes including a Russell Hobbs Vacuum Cleaner, B&M vouchers, Cadbury’s Chocolates and much more.
There will also be a face painter in store to transform customers into their favourite super heroes, animals or characters.
