Our 600th Store! B&M Hits Milestone in Tonbridge
12 November 2018
B&M celebrated a landmark moment in its 40 year history on Saturday, with the opening of its 600th store!
Shoppers from across Tonbridge, Kent queued in their droves to be the first to step foot in the milestone store, located at Cannon Lane Retail Park.
Mayor, Cllr Pam Bates was in attendance to cut the ribbon on opening day, while John from local charity The Bridge Trust was invited to be part of B&M's special day.
The charity has been supporting single homeless people in west Kent since 1991. They offer advice, accommodation and support to help homeless people transform their lives and achieve independence with a home of their own.
The charity was recognised by store staff for the hard work it carries out in the local community. John received £250 worth of B&M vouchers on behalf of the charity; a thank you for its dedication in tackling homelessness in Kent.
Store manager David Watts, said: “The team from The Bridge Trust really stood out for us as they go the extra mile for the local community; we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work they do.
“We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”
He also commented: “Our new colleagues have been working really hard to get the store ready for opening day, we can’t wait to open the company’s 600th store on Saturday and show customers their brand new B&M.”
To celebrate the store opening B&M gave the first ten customers a golden ticket, one of which was the lucky recipient of £50 vouchers to spend in store.
The former Homebase store stocks a wide range of branded and own label goods, including toys, groceries, health & beauty pet, DIY and much more.
