New B&M Creates 70 Jobs in Clacton by Opening New Store
06 August 2014
B&M has created 70 jobs in Clacton after opening a new shop at the former Homebase on the Waterglade Retail Park in the town. The finishing touches were made to the 36,000sq ft Store and Garden Centre which opened on Saturday 2nd August.
Customers can expect a wide variety of branded and own label products from its convenient location on Old Road including groceries and toiletries as well as an extensive non-food section including toys, soft furnishings, home and electrical ranges.
The new store also features a 10,000sq ft Garden Centre featuring plants and gardening equipment as well as everything needed to make your garden grow or to create a beautiful outdoor space all year round.
The store was opened by representatives from the local branch of the RNLI. The charity was nominated by the store colleagues and received £250 worth of B&M vouchers as a thank you for opening the store. The RNLI were joined by the Clacton Carnival Princess and two Princesses who accepted an invitation to ‘cut the ribbon’ to officially mark the opening of the store.
Stuart Goodworth, Store Manager at the new B&M Home Store said: “We’re really proud to have opened our first store in Clacton, creating 70 jobs and playing our part in the local community. Having our colleagues personally select the local charity to mark the store’s first day made it extra special too.”
