Maryport B&M Store Officially Opens
22 November 2018
Customers were delighted this morning with the official unveiling of their brand new B&M store in Maryport.
The store, which can be located on Curzon Street, officially opened its doors to the public today, with 15 people from the local area handed jobs in the former Co-Op store, with 28 original staff kept on.
A wide range of branded products are available to purchase, including toys, food & drink, homeware, pet products, health & beauty and seasonal.
As part of the opening day process, colleagues were asked to nominate a local charity who could be given some VIP treatment. They chose Maryport Sea Cadets who, alongside the Chairman, Cllr Peter Kendall, helped unveil the new store.
The charity helps young people get new ways of thinking and encourages them to learn new skills such as power boating, how to save a life, sailing a tall ship, engineering and much more.
As a thank you for all of the hard work they do in the community, and for helping to open the new B&M store, the charity were handed £250 worth of vouchers to spend in-store.
The store manager, Andrew Ronaldson, said: “The team from Maryport Sea Cadets really stood out for us as they go the extra mile for local young people in the community, we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work they do.
“We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”
He also commented: “Our new colleagues have been working really hard to get the store ready and show customers their brand new B&M.”
