Jobs Boost for Suffolk as B&M Opens New Store
08 September 2016
B&M proudly opened its latest store in Suffolk, creating 70 new jobs for local people.
The variety retailer is one of the fastest growing in the UK and has now expanded its reach as far as Stowmarket in the south-east.
Located on Milton Road South at the site of the former Morrisons, the B&M Bargains store will stock a great range of products from toys and grocery to homeware, DIY, and much more.
And to help celebrate the occasion, East Anglian Children’s Hospice were invited by store staff to be part of their special day.
The charity supports children and their families who are suffering with life-limiting illnesses, across Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire.
As a thank you for taking part in the opening ceremony, the charity received £250 worth of B&M vouchers, while representatives spent the day fund-raising in-store.
Keith Sharp, store manager of B&M Stowmarket, said: “The team from East Anglian Children’s Hospice really stood out for us as they go the extra mile for the community. We wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work they do.
“We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”
The store was officially opened by Mayor of Stowmarket, Councillor Barry Humpheys and his wife Tracy Humpheys who cut the ribbon to declare the new B&M store ‘open’.
And with the creation of 70 new jobs for the local community, B&M Stowmarket’s store manager was looking forward to getting to work.
Mr Sharp added: “We’re feeling really positive about the creation of new jobs for local people and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.
“We are all really excited to get the doors open and welcome our new customers through the door.”
