Celebrations in Catford As New B&M Store Opens
22 March 2017
Shoppers in Catford were celebrating on Wednesday, after B&M opened a new store in the town.
More than 65 jobs have been created at the new Bargains store on Ravensbourne Retail Park, on the site of the former Currys, in a welcome boost for the local economy.
Visitors to the store will be able to browse a large range of branded and own label products, including toys, food & drink, pet items and homewares.
Shoppers will also have access to extensive DIY, decorating items and an impressive range of furniture.
Representatives from Volunteer Centre Lewisham were invited along as part of B&M’s Local Hero campaign, designed to reward a local charity or individual who have made an important impact on their community.
As a thank you for taking part the organisation also received £250 worth of B&M vouchers, as well as cutting the ribbon at the new store.
Volunteer Centre Lewisham is the first step for volunteering within Lewisham, making it easy for Lewisham’s residents, from all backgrounds and abilities, to get more involved in their communities.
A spokesperson from B&M said: “We’ve been feeling really positive about the creation of new jobs for local people and we hope customers are delighted with their new store.
“We’re delighted to get the doors open and finally welcome our new customers through the door.”
The Catford store opening is the 2nd store to open today, with B&M also opening a brand new Evesham store – highlighting how fast the variety retailer is growing.
