Brand New B&M Store Opens in Marsh Mills, Plymouth

The people of Plymouth were delighted on Friday the 5th of April at the grand opening of the new discount B&M store in the local area. Located in March Mills the new store has brought a welcome boost to the local economy and created 85 jobs.

After taking possession of a previous Homebase store the B&M team completed extensive refurbishment works which now allows for over 32,000sqft of big brands at even better prices for the people of Plymouth to enjoy.

Customers can expect to find a wide variety of branded groceries for the best possible price including a range of food, drink, and pet food. There will also be a fantastic selection of quality health and beauty products, homeware, electricals, DIY essentials, toys, games, gifts, and plenty more to explore.

The store will also boast its own 13,240sqft Garden Centre selling hundreds of plant varieties and gardening products.

The colleagues were asked to nominate a local charity they think truly deserves some VIP treatment for the work they do for the local community. They chose the team from Plymouth Foodbank to take centre stage and officially unveil the new B&M store.

Plymouth Foodbank does not believe that anyone in the community should have to face going hungry. Which is why they provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to them in crisis. They also lend a listening ear, offering useful advice to help people tackle wider problems. This includes budgeting help and money advice, advice and support, training and education and free computer access. Last year they provided over 7,285 emergency food supplies last year and aim to continue to their work so that nobody goes hungry in the Plymouth area.

The store manager from B&M said: “We’re feeling extremely positive about the creation of more jobs for local people, and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.”

The store manager also commented: “Plymouth Foodbank really stood out for us, so we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work that they have done. We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”
