Boost for Bodmin as Brand New B&M Opens
28 October 2016
There was a boost for Bodmin today as B&M opened a brand new Bargains store in the town on Friday.
The store, which comes complete with a Garden Centre, has created more than 85 new jobs for local people.
Based on Callywith Retail Park, visitors to the store will be able to browse the retailer’s wide ranges of branded and own label goods, including groceries, toys, home furnishings and DIY.
The addition of a Garden Centre will also allow keen gardeners to get their hands dirty, with garden furniture, decking and much more available.
To help celebrate the store opening, B&M colleagues invited along representatives from The Little Wrens to be their Local Hero for the day, given to a group or organisation who has made an important contribution to their community.
The Little Wrens are a small group of local women who collect donations of children’s clothes, shoes, toys, books and equipment and redistribute them to those in need, free of charge.
Also in attendance on opening day was the Mayor of Bodmin, Councillor Lance Kennedy, who helped make the day even more memorable.
B&M is no stranger to the county, with recent store openings in Liskeard, Truro, Redruth, St Austell and Penzance creating more than 500 jobs.
A spokesperson from B&M said: “We’ve been feeling really positive about the creation of new jobs for local people and we hope customers are delighted with their new store.
“We couldn’t wait to get the doors open and welcome our new customers into their brand new store.”
The opening day fun will carry on through the weekend, with a face painter available on Saturday to turn everyone into their favourite characters.
