Big News for Brighouse as Brand New B&M Opens
21 October 2016
There was big news for Brighouse as B&M opened a brand new store in the town on Friday.
More than 45 new jobs have been created for local people at the B&M Bargains & Garden Centre Store on Bradford Road at Bailiff Bridge Retail Development.
B&M is one of the UK’s fastest growing retailers and customers can expect to find a wide variety of branded and own label products including toys, food & drink, pet products and health & beauty.
The newly developed store will also boast an extensive DIY, decorating and furniture range, homeware collections, electricals and its very own Garden Centre.
In attendance at the opening as B&M’s Local Hero for the day was Nicky Fox, a representative of Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice.
The Hospice supports over 200 local children with life shortening conditions and their families in West Yorkshire.
A total of £3.8million is needed to be raised each year to fund this crucial service, and with just 6% of this coming from government sources, community support is vital.
In addition to cutting the ribbon, the hospice also received £250 worth of B&M vouchers as a thank you for taking part.
The opening day celebrations were also attended by Mayor of Calderdale, Councillor Howard Blagbrough, who was delighted to receive an invitation.
A spokesperson from B&M said: “We’re felt really positive about the creation of new jobs for local people and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.
“We have all been really excited to get the doors open and welcome our new customers into our brand new store.”
