26 June 2015
B&M has brought even more jobs to Belfast after its latest store opened in the city.
One of the UK’s fastest growing retailers, B&M increased its presence in Northern Ireland with a new Bargain’s store which opened its doors on Friday.
Conveniently located on the bustling Cregagh Road, the new store is B&M’s 7th in Belfast, complementing popular sister stores on Rosemary Street in the city centre and the Home Store at Connswater Retail Park.
And to celebrate the creation of 32 new jobs, the B&M store team were joined by very special guests who kindly cut the ribbon on the new store.
Macmillan Cancer Support were nominated by staff as a deserving charity working hard in the area to change the lives of people in the community.
Cynthia Cherry, representing the local branch of the national charity, was on hand to cut the ribbon, and she received £250 worth of B&M vouchers as a thank you for opening the store.
Volunteers were made welcome by staff as they bag packed throughout the day for the store’s first customers, raising further funds for the charity.
Claire Lagan, store manager at Cregagh Road said, “We are delighted to have finally opened our doors and to have representatives from Macmillan Cancer Support cutting the ribbon to officially mark the opening of our new store.”
Claire added, “B&M is committed to recruiting from the local area and I am delighted we’ve found a great team from in and around Belfast.
“We’re really proud to have created another 32 jobs across the city this year and continuing to play our part in the local community.”
Former colleagues of the recently closed, nearby Tesco were invited to apply for jobs at the new store, with 6 successful applicants joining the new team.
Customers can expect a wide variety of branded and own label products including groceries and toiletries as well as an extensive non-food section including toys, home and gardening ranges.
