B&M Sets up Shop in Skegness
03 November 2017
B&M continued its expansion today as a new store was opened in Skegness, creating jobs for dozens of locals.
The addition to B&M's portfolio in the region comes as a huge boost to the local economy, creating 60 jobs for people from the area.
Visitors to the store, located on Burgh Road Retail Park, will be able to browse a wide range of branded and own label goods, including toys, groceries, health & beauty and pet ranges.
As part of the opening celebrations, B&M employees invited local charity, The Ryan Smith Foundation, to be their VIP for the day, as well as local Mayor, Cllr Danny Brookes.
On 22 July 2013, Ryan Smith suffered severe injuries in a cycling accident, his injuries could have been lessened if he was wearing a helmet.
After his accident his family set up The Ryan Smith Foundation to promote helmet safety awareness and help raise money for those with brain injuries and their families.
The foundation were handed £250 worth of vouchers to spend in-store as a thank you for their hard work in the community.
The store manager, Richard Brooksby, said: “The team from The Ryan Smith Foundation really stood out for us as they go the extra mile for the local community, we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work they do.
“We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”
He also commented: “The new team have been working really hard to get the store ready for opening day and we can’t wait to get the doors open next Friday and show customers their new B&M Skegness."
