B&M's Wallsend Store Expansion Complete
01 June 2019
The long-awaited grand re-opening of B&M's Wallsend store on Wiltshire Drive has arrived.
The original store closed on May 27th and an expansion to create a bigger and better store has now been completed.
The store employed 45 colleagues originally, but due to a much bigger space, that has seen an additional 25 locals hired.
As part of the opening day process, colleagues nominated Air Cadets, to be given some VIP treatment. They helped unveil the new store alongside the Lord Mayor, Cllr Norma Redfearn.
The Air Cadets encourages young people to challenge themselves through activities, as well as learn new skills that they can use in other aspects of life.
In addition to helping to open the new store, they were given £250 worth of vouchers to spend.
The store manager, Colin McKee, said: “The team from Air Cadets really stood out for us as they go the extra mile for local young people in the community, we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work they do.
“We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”
He also commented: “Our new colleagues have been working really hard to get the store ready for opening day, we can’t wait to get the doors open on Saturday and show customers their brand new B&M.”
