B&M's New Folkestone Store Takes New Jobs in Kent over 260
23 November 2017
B&M's expansion continued today as Kent welcomed its latest new store, adding more jobs to the region.
The addition to B&M's portfolio in Folkestone comes as a huge boost to the local economy, creating 80 jobs for people from the area, taking their total to over 260 in the county after store openings in Strood, Chatham and Ashford.
Visitors to the store, located on Park Farm Retail Park, will be able to browse a wide range of branded and own label goods, including toys, groceries, health & beauty and pet ranges.
As part of the opening celebrations, B&M employees invited local charity, Rainbow Centre, to be their VIP for the day. Local Mayor, Cllr Roger West, was also in attendance.
The charity supports people through times of crisis to try to help them turn their lives around, they do this through offering a number of services such as Homeless Support, Shepway Foodbank and the Family Contact Centre.
They were handed £250 worth of vouchers to spend in-store as a thank you for their hard work in the community.
The store manager, Terry Arnold, said: “The team from the Rainbow Centre really stood out for us as they go the extra mile for local community, we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work they do.
“We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”
He also commented: “The new team have been working really hard to get the store ready for opening day and we can’t wait to get the doors open Thursday and show customers their new B&M Folkestone.”
