20 October 2018
B&M's new store in Callington got off to a flying start today with the help of a local food bank.
More than 50 people from the local area have been handed jobs at the new store, giving a boost to the region.
The store, which can be found on New Road, was officially opened by Callington Food Back and the Deputy Mayor, Cllr Suzan Tolman.
The team provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to them in a crisis.
As a thank you for opening the new store and for all of the hard work they do in the community, the food bank was handed £250 worth of vouchers to spend in-store.
The store manager, Paula Cressy, said: “Since we opened, the store has been really busy and feedback from customers has been great.
“A huge thank you to Callington Food Bank who helped us open the store, we hope that our donation can help them continue the outstanding work they do for the local community.”
