B&M Relocate to Bigger and Better Store in Golden Square Shopping Centre, Warrington!

28 September 2024

Following feedback from regular shoppers who wanted an even bigger B&M store with more products, B&M Warrington listened and delivered. This morning at 8am on Saturday 28th September, store colleagues were thrilled to welcome back customers into their new store located in Golden Square Shopping Centre, Warrington.

The store manager of B&M Golden Square said: “We wanted a bigger and better store for our customers, giving them even more big, branded products.”

“We hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store. We’re really excited to open the doors.”

The previous store, which was situated in Cockhedge Retail Park, closed its tills for the final time on Monday 23rd September, to make way for the big upgrade. Locals won’t have to travel far to the new location as it is just down the road from the old site and occupies a space previously host to Wilko.

B&M Golden Square now operates on over 15,886sqft. of sales space, offering an even bigger selection of great bargains from groceries, toiletries and health & beauty, to toys, homeware, DIY, and so much more. Due to its big upgrade, the store has created 40 jobs for local people, significantly boosting the local economy.

The new store was officially opened by local charity The Sky Garden, who marked the occasion with a ceremonial ribbon cut.

Store colleagues were asked to nominate a local charity who they think deserves the spotlight for all the work they do in the community. They chose the team from The Sky Garden to take centre stage and officially open the doors to B&M Gold Square, Warrington. The occasion was marked with a ceremonial ribbon cut and customers were welcomed through the doors for the first time.

The Sky Garden launched in 2023 in partnership with the Golden Square Shopping Centre as part of their ‘Greener Shopping’ campaign. The Sky Garden is used as an ‘outdoor classroom’ as well as an event space – showing children how to plant and care for small, green spaces and hosting events where customers can pick their own produce for free. The Sky Garden is maintained by a team of volunteers who help tend to the garden on a weekly basis and share their knowledge. Customers and staff are actively encouraged to visit the Sky Garden as they believe nature has a positive impact on mental health and wellbeing.

B&M will be donating a range of plants to the Sky Garden in addition to a £250 voucher. This will include fruit trees that The Sky Garden can continue to grow, perennials which will bring colour and interest to the garden year after year, and bedding plants such as pansies, violas, and cyclamen, which will bloom in winter to bring a splash of instant colour.

The store manager of B&M Golden Square also said: “The Sky Garden really stood out for us, so we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work that they have done. We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”
