B&M Opens New Store in Castlemilk Shopping Centre
08 September 2017
There was plenty of excitement in Castlemilk today as a new B&M Bargains Store was opened.
The latest addition to B&M's portfolio in the region comes as a huge boost to the local economy after it took over a former Co Op shop, keeping every member of staff employed.
Visitors to the store, located in Castlemilk Shopping Centre, will be able to browse a wide range of branded and own label goods, including toys, groceries, health & beauty and pet ranges.
As part of the opening day celebrations, B&M colleagues invited local charity, Castlemilk Youth Complex, to be their VIP for the day.
The charity focuses on motivating and uplifting local young people to encourage them to have a successful future. They do this through getting them to engage in the arts such as, music, drama and visual arts.
They received £250 worth of B&M vouchers as a thank you for taking part and for all of their hard work in the local community.
The store manager, Leanne Leckie, said: “The team from Castlemilk Youth Complex really stood out for us as they go the extra mile for local young people, we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work they do.
“We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”
She also commented: “The new team have been working really hard to get the store ready for opening day and we can’t wait to get the doors open Friday and show customers their new B&M Castlmilk.”
Shopping Centre Manager, Alasdair Irving, said: “We’re looking forward to B&M becoming the first discount store in Braes, it’s a major high street retailer and its arrival demonstrates great confidence in the shopping centre.”
