It was another PROUD day for B&M as the variety retailer opened it’s 400th store on Saturday.
The people of Cheadle Heath, Stockport got a first glimpse of their brand new Home Store & Garden Centre on a milestone day for B&M. Celebrity chef Ainsley Harriott joined Mayor of Stockport, Councillor Kevin Hogg in cutting the ribbon on a hugely successful opening day.
Hundreds of locals turned up for the opening as well as for the chance to meet Harriott who gave away signed copies of his Meals in Minutes cookery book. Frozen princesses Anna and Elsa posed for photographs along with the famous Haribo bear, while free face painting was offered to children.
The landmark store has created 68 new jobs for the people of Stockport, providing a major boost to the local economy. Stockport’s second store demonstrates B&M’s commitment to investing in the growth and success of communities throughout the UK.
Store Manager, Colin Pollard said: “We’ve all worked very hard over the past few weeks to make sure the store will be ready for the opening. We’re extremely pleased to be creating more jobs for local people and continuing to play our part in the community.”
