B&M Opens Brand New Store in Wigston

In a welcome boost to the local economy, B&M are thrilled to announce the launch of its brand-new store in The Arcade, Leicester Road in Wigston. The launch of the new store will create more than 20 jobs for local people.
After taking possession of a previous Wilko, B&M have completed an extensive refurbishment programme to provide a space of 9,361sqft. The store was officially unveiled at 8am on Friday 26th January 2024.
Customers can expect to find a wide variety of branded groceries for the best possible price including a range of food, drink and pet food. There will also be a fantastic selection of quality health and beauty products, homeware, electricals, DIY, essentials, toys, games, gifts and plenty more to explore.
The colleagues were asked to nominate a local charity they think truly deserves some VIP treatment for the work they do for the local community. They chose the team from FareShare Midlands to take centre stage and officially unveil the new B&M store.
FareShare Midlands are a charity that redistribute good quality, in-date surplus food which would otherwise have gone to waste – turning an environmental problem into a social solution. The food is sorted and stored by a dedicated team of staff and volunteers. The supplies are then redistributed to charities and communities across the Midlands including community centres, homeless shelters and children’s breakfast/school holiday clubs. These local organisations then turn the food into food parcels, delicious meals, and shopping for vulnerable people. Last year, FareShare delivered enough food to create 13 million meals.
The store manager from B&M said: “FareShare Midlands really stood out for us, so we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work that they have done. We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”
The store manager also commented: “We’re feeling extremely positive about the creation of more jobs for local people, and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.”
