B&M Opens Brand New Port Glasgow Store with VIP Help
28 September 2016
B&M successfully opened its brand new Port Glasgow store on Wednesday, with a little help from a special charity.
The new B&M Bargains store is based on Gallagher shopping centre, and has created more than 40 new jobs for local people.
Visitors to the store will be able to browse the retailer’s extensive ranges of branded and own label goods, including toys, groceries and home furnishings.
The addition of a garden centre will also allow keen gardeners to browse and purchase from a wide range of gardening products.
Local representatives from Ardgowan Hospice were chosen as B&M’s Local Hero for the day, an individual or organisation who has made an important contribution to their community
The charity took centre stage as they officially unveiled the new B&M store alongside the local provost, Robert Moran.
The hospice, supported by the local community, aims to provide the highest quality of care for patients living with a life limiting illness.
Nikki Middleton, store manager at B&M Port Glasgow, said: “The Ardgowan Hospice crew really stood out for us as they go the extra mile for the community; we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work they do.
“We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”
She also commented: “We’ve been eagerly awaiting getting the doors open today and finally showing customers their new B&M Port Glasgow.”
The opening day celebrations will continue into the weekend, with a balloon giveaway and face painter in the store on Saturday 1st October to keep the atmosphere upbeat.
The face painter will transform customers into their favourite super heroes, animals or characters, helping to cap what looks certain to be a brilliant opening week..
