05 September 2024
This morning at 9am on Thursday 5th September 2024, B&M store colleagues gathered in Atria Shopping Centre to unveil their brand-new store and welcome in their first customers. The new discount B&M store was officially opened by the store manager and local charity, Watford Foodbank, who marked the occasion with a ceremonial ribbon cut.
The new unit now occupied by B&M in Atria Shopping Centre was previously host to a John Lewis store, which has since undergone an extensive internal and external refurbishment programme to provide customers with the famous B&M store layout and 21,092sqft. of space full with exciting products to shop.
Simon Plumb, Centre Director at Atria, Watford, commented:
"We're delighted that B&M has chosen Atria for its latest opening and know shoppers will flock to this great value retailer when it opens on 5th September. With over 200 stores, Atria Watford offers shoppers a huge choice, and B&M is a very welcome addition to the centre."
Customers can expect to find a wide variety of branded groceries for the best possible price including a range of food, drink, pet food and everyday groceries. There is also a fantastic selection of quality health & beauty products, homeware, electricals, DIY essentials, toys, games, gifts, and plenty more to explore.
The store manager from B&M said: "We're feeling really positive about the creation of new jobs for local people, and we hope our customers are going to be delighted with their new store."
B&M is passionate about helping local communities which is why, for the opening day of the new Watford store, Watford Foodbank were nominated to take centre stage and assist in the grand unveiling. Store colleagues chose this team for all the hard work they have done in the local community and have donated to help further their amazing cause.
Watford Foodbank do not believe that anyone in their community should face going hungry, which is why they provide three days' worth of nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to them in crisis. It is run by a small team of volunteers who give their free time collecting food, making up parcels and ensuring that the food is received by those who need it most. They exist to show compassion to people in financial hardship by providing food, support, and other assistance.
The store manager from B&M also commented: "Watford Foodbank really stood out for us, so we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work that they have done. We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do."
