B&M Launch New Store and Boost Local Economy in Bexleyheath
31 May 2024
Brand-new Bexleyheath B&M store opened its doors this morning at 8am on Friday 31st May, officially unveiled by the local charity Bexleyheath Foodbank.
After taking possession of a previous Wilko store, the Bexleyheath B&M store now occupies a space of 26,197sqft. after undergoing a comprehensive refurbishment project to bring locals a fantastic shopping space.
The launch of this brand-new store has significantly boosted the local economy, providing 60 jobs for local people and offering the community a wide variety of branded products for the best possible price.
The store manager of B&M commented: “We’re feeling extremely positive about the creation of more jobs for local people, and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.”
Customers can expect to find essentials and groceries, including a great range of food, drink and pet food. There is also an exciting selection of quality health & beauty products, homeware, electricals, DIY essentials, toys, games, gifts, and plenty more to explore.
For the official opening of the store, colleagues were asked to nominate a local charity who they think deserves recognition for all the hard work they do in the local area. They chose the team from Bexleyheath Foodbank to take the spotlight and officially open the doors to the community.
Bexleyheath Foodbank don’t think anyone in the community should have to face going hungry. That’s why they provide three day’s nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to them in crisis.
The store manager of B&M also said: “Bexleyheath Foodbank really stood out for us, so we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work that they have done. We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”
