B&M Lakeside Expands Store after Massive Refurbishment

This morning at 8am on Monday 18th November, B&M store colleagues gathered around their newly refurbished site to celebrate its impressive transformation. The launch of this expansion has created 15 jobs for local people and is a welcome boost to the local economy.

The store manager from B&M commented: "We're feeling extremely positive about the creation of more jobs for local people, and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store."

B&M Lakeside, Scunthorpe, has spent the last several weeks under extensive internal and external development after adopting a second unit previously inhabited by Argos. The development programme was completed in 3 stages, which meant the store was not required to close and has led to an increase of in sales space of 23,300sqft.

 To mark the occasion, store colleagues were asked to nominate a local charity they think truly deserves the spotlight for the work they do for the local community. They chose the team from The Forge Project to take centre stage and officially unveil the new B&M store.

The Forge Project provides vital support services to the homeless of North Lincolnshire. They open five mornings per week offering breakfast, hot drinks, lunch, showering/laundry facilities, clean clothing, sleeping bags. The Forge Project aims to give the correct support to help the homeless realise they have a better future and give them the opportunities that they need to guide them.

The store manager from B&M also said: “The Forge Project really stood out for us, so we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work that they have done. We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”
