B&M Growth in Scotland Reaches Inverness as New Store Opens
11 July 2015
B&M’s list of Scottish stores continues to grow as the retailer opened its latest store in Inverness.
The new store – which opened its doors on Saturday – is the first B&M in the north-east town and 70 jobs have been created as a result.
Located on Telford Retail Park, Telford Street, the new Home Store & Garden Centre will stock a wide range of homewares, groceries and garden accessories including curtains, rugs, furniture and sheds.
And to help mark the occasion, B&M invited a very special guest to cut the ribbon and officially declare the store ‘open’.
Inverness Provost, Helen Carmichael was invited to the opening ceremony as B&M’s very own VIP for the day, highlighting the significance of the new store to the town and its citizens.
As a thank you for opening the town's new store, Mrs Carmichael received £250 worth of B&M vouchers, to be donated to a charity of her choice.
Campbell Peden, store manager at B&M Inverness said: “B&M is committed to recruiting from the local area and I am delighted we’ve found a great team from in and around Inverness.
“We’re really proud to have created 70 jobs across the town this year and to play our part in the local community.”
There was something for the whole family on opening day as in-store activity caused a real buzz in Inverness.
An Irn-Bru mountain bike was the prize for one lucky raffle winner, while Disney Frozen characters Anna and Elsa were in town to entertain little shoppers.
B&M is one of the UK’s fastest growing retailers with over 450 stores across the county. Its new Inverness store is another step towards bringing more great brands at low prices, to even more shoppers.
