B&M Gainsborough Upgrades to Bigger & Better Unit in Marshall’s Yard Shopping Centre
20 July 2024
Following feedback from regular shoppers who wanted a larger shop with even more products, B&M Gainsborough closed its Lord Street store for the final time on Wednesday 17th July and has swiftly moved into a bigger and better unit at Marshall’s Yard, Beaumont Street, Gainsborough.
Customers didn’t have to wait long before it’s re-opening this morning at 8am on Saturday 20th July 2024, where the store was officially unveiled by the Feeding Gainsborough charity, alongside store colleagues.
The relocation of B&M Gainsborough has created 25 more jobs for locals, significantly boosting the local economy and adding to an already great team. The accommodating unit at Marshall’s Yard Shopping Centre was the ideal place to relocate to, as it provides the store with over 20,764sqft of sales space - giving customers an even greater selection of fabulous products.
Amy Jones, Assistant Centre Manager at Marshall’s Yard said: “We are delighted to be welcoming B&M to the centre, which will enhance the range of essential goods we can offer to our customers.”
Customers can expect to find a great range of everyday items, including groceries, pet food, cleaning, and health products. As well as the essentials, B&M Gainsborough also stocks an impressive selection of homeware, DIY, toys & games, giftware, stationery and so much more to explore.
For the grand re-opening of the B&M Gainsborough store at its new location, store colleagues were asked to nominate a local charity they think deserves the spotlight for all the hard work they do within the community. They chose the team from Feeding Gainsborough to take centre stage and officially open the store to the public.
The store manager at B&M Gainsborough commented: “Feeding Gainsborough really stood out for us, so we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all their hard work. We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”
Feeding Gainsborough collects surplus food from local supermarkets, businesses and growers, where it is the redistributed to those in need. The food is allocated via established partners within the food union across Gainsborough and surrounding villages for tables and support. Feeding Gainsborough believe it is so important that we stop seeing poverty through the prism of food and recognise that every family has the right to a decent income that enables them to afford all the things that they need.
The store manager at B&M also said: “We wanted a bigger and better store for our customers, giving them even more big brands and low prices. We hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.”
