B&M Delighted to Reopen Peel Centre, Blackburn Store After Fire Damage

B&M is delighted to announce the reopening of its Peel Centre, Blackburn store at 8am on Saturday 14th September.

The store closed after a fire broke out in May 2023. However, the B&M team have been hard at work carrying out extensive internal and external refurbishment.

Local shoppers will be thrilled to know that the reopened store is now back and better than ever!

Customers can expect to find the usual fantastic wide variety of branded groceries for the best possible price including a range of food, drink, and pet food. There will also be a selection of quality health and beauty products, homeware, electricals, DIY essentials, toys, games, gifts, and plenty more to explore.

The colleagues were asked to nominate a local charity they think truly deserves some VIP treatment for the work they do for the local community. They chose the team from Blackburn Foodbank to take centre stage and officially unveil the new B&M store.

Blackburn Foodbank has a goal for a future without the need for foodbanks. They provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to them in crisis. They want to bring together the experiences of the community to challenge the structural issues that lock people in poverty, and campaign for change to end the need for foodbanks in the UK. They strive to ensure that every experience with the foodbank is an easy and positive one.

The store manager from B&M said: “We’re delighted that a date has been confirmed for the store to reopen. We hope customers are going to be delighted after hearing the news. We cannot wait to start welcoming customers back through the door once again.”

The store manager also commented: “Blackburn Foodbank really stood out for us, so we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work that they have done. We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”
