B&M Delighted to Announce Brand New Store in Castle Douglas
22 February 2024
In a welcome boost to the local economy, B&M are delighted to announce the launch of its brand-new store on Cotton Street in Castle Douglas.
The launch of the new store has created 50 jobs for local people, boosting the local economy and providing best brands at low prices.
The discount store has taken possession of a previous Wilko store which provides a space of 20,560 after undergoing a comprehensive internal and external refurbishment programme before officially opening its doors at 8am on Thursday 22nd of February 2024.
Customers can expect to find a wide variety of branded groceries at discount prices, including a range of food, drink, and pet food. There will also be a fantastic selection of quality health and beauty products, homeware, electricals, DIY essentials, toys, games gifts, and plenty more to explore.
The colleagues were asked to nominate a local charity they think truly deserves the spotlight for all the hard work they do in the local community. They chose the team from Stepping Stones Foodbank to take centre stage and officially unveil the new B&M store.
Stepping Stone Foodbank is about providing affordable food. Their mission is to ease food poverty and create food dignity by maintaining a larder open to all. They provide a community larder instead of food bank deliveries so that people can feel empowered to make their own choices with dignity and to help more people who are struggling in the community. This also means more social interaction for members and volunteers, and they can also provide other support as needed and tell them about opportunities. Stepping Stones Foodbank are working to diminish the stigma around foodbanks.
The store manager from B&M said: “Stepping Stones Foodbank really stood out for us, so we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work that they have done. We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”
The store manager also commented: “We’re feeling extremely positive about the creation of more jobs for local people, and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.”
