B&M Creates 50 Jobs in Guisborough with Store Opening
07 October 2017
Dozens of jobs were created in Guisborough today as a brand new B&M store, with garden centre, was officially opened.
The latest addition to B&M's portfolio in the region comes as a huge boost to the local economy, creating 50 jobs for people from the area.
The store has an expansive garden centre attachment, totalling 5,031 square foot.
Visitors to the store, located on Cleveland Gate Retail Park, will be able to browse a wide range of branded and own label goods, including toys, groceries, health & beauty and pet ranges.
As part of the opening day celebrations, B&M employees invited local charity, Greyhound Rescue and Co-Ordinated Emergencies, to be their VIP for the day, while local Mayor Cllr Dennis Teasdale, was also in attendance.
The charity was set up in 2011 to rescue, re-habilitate and rehome unwanted and abused greyhounds, lurchers and other sighthounds from local authority dog pounds, members of the public, and, predominantly, owners and trainers of racing greyhounds.
They received £250 worth of B&M vouchers as a thank you for taking part and for all of their hard work in the local community.
A gift and donation was also given to Cancer Research UK on behalf of the new store.
A spokesperson from B&M said: “We’re feeling really positive about the creation of even more jobs for local people and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.
“We are all really excited to get the doors open and welcome our new customers."
