B&M Continues Rapid Growth in Edinburgh with New Straiton Store
03 November 2017
There was a lot of excitement in Edinburgh today as Straiton welcomed the latest B&M Bargains store.
The addition to B&M's portfolio in the region comes as a huge boost to the local economy, creating 60 jobs for people from the area.
Visitors to the store, located on Pentland Retail Park, will be able to browse a wide range of branded and own label goods, including toys, groceries, health & beauty and pet ranges.
As part of the opening celebrations, B&M employees invited local charity, Edinburgh Children's Hospital Charity, to be their VIP for the day. They were handed £250 worth of vouchers to spend in-store as a thank you for their hard work in the community.
The charity supports and complements the amazing work of Edinburgh’s Royal Hospital for Sick Children, as well as other children’s healthcare settings across Scotland.
Their aim is to help give poorly children and young people positive experiences in hospital so they can be “a child first and a patient second”.
The store manager, Wendy Benzie, said: “The team from Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity really stood out for us as they go the extra mile for local children and young people, we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work they do.
“We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”
He also commented: “The new team have been working really hard to get the store ready for opening day and we can’t wait to get the doors open next Friday and show customers their new B&M Straiton.”
