B&M Completes Long-Awaited Ashton-in-Makerfield Relocation
28 September 2018
B&M proudly completed the long-awaited relocation of its Ashton-in-Makerfield store this morning, much to the delight of customers.
The new store, which can be found in the Gerard Centre, is a huge boost to the local community, with the bigger store now able to employ a further 15 members of staff in addition to the 18 that were already in place.
The colleagues were asked to nominate a local charity to be their VIP guests for the day. They chose the team from Wigan & Leigh Hospice, who were also given £250 worth of vouchers to spend in store.
The charity care for local people with a life-limiting illness and their families. They provide skilled care, help and support to patients in their own homes, as well as at their short-stay Hospice based in Hindley.
The store manager, Antonia Hughes, said: “The team from Wigan and Leigh Hospice really stood out for us as they go the extra mile for the local community, we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work they do.
“We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”
She also commented: “Our new colleagues have been working really hard to get the store ready for opening day. We're delighted to finally be able to show customers their brand new B&M.”
