B&M Brings New Retail Opportunities to Shirley

B&M increased its presence in the Midlands with a brand new store which has brought more jobs to the area.
The variety retailer has over 450 stores nationwide and has further committed itself to the Birmingham area with a brand new store in Shirley.
The 40 new roles created by the store opening brings the combined total of jobs brought about by new stores in Castle Vale, Minworth, Wednesbury and Aldridge, to 250 in the last 18 months.
The doors opened at the Bargains store on Saturday which is conveniently located at the Parkgate development on Stratford Road.
Mayor Councillor Glenis Slater cut the ribbon at the new store’s opening ceremony, while another special guest helped make it a memorable occasion for B&M. Representatives from Solihull Children’s Charity were in attendance and received £250 worth of B&M vouchers as a thank your for taking part.
A B&M spokesperson said: “We’re feeling really positive about the creation of new jobs for local people and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.
“We are all really excited to get the doors open and welcome our new customers through the doors.”
Jonathon Cox from Shirley Advance, the firm behind B&M’s new home at the Shirley development said: “This is great news for Parkgate. The arrival of B&M, a major high street name, demonstrates great confidence in Shirley as a retail and leisure destination.
He added, “We are delighted to welcome B&M, which, alongside other new retailers and food outlets, means Parkgate is now fully let."
Hundreds of shoppers turned out for the grand opening to get a taste of B&M’s bargains. The store will offer a wide range of products from food and drink to toys and homeware ranges.
