23 January 2025

This morning at 8am on Thursday 23rd January 2025, B&M opened the doors of its brand-new discount store and garden centre located on the Eastern Bypass in Sudbury, Suffolk.

The opening of this new store has created 90 new jobs for local people and has significantly contributed towards the local economy, where the Sudbury community now has access to B&M’s great range of products.

B&M’s store manager commented: “We’re feeling really positive about the creation of more jobs for local people, and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.”

The discount retailer now possesses a unit formerly inhabited by B&Q, which has since undergone extensive internal and external work to bring the new B&M store to all its glory, providing a sales space of 25,703sqft. packed full of irresistible bargains.

Customers can expect to find a wide variety of branded groceries for the best possible price including a range of food, drink, and pet food. There is also a fantastic selection of both familiar and exclusive health & beauty products, homeware, electricals, DIY essentials, toys, games, gifts, and plenty more to explore.

Alongside the usual range of fantastic products, B&M Sudbury also boasts its own 10,269sqft. garden centre, selling hundreds of plant varieties and garden essentials.

For the grand opening, store colleagues were asked to nominate a local charity to take centre stage and mark the occasion with a ceremonial ribbon cutting. They chose the team from Stour Valley Vineyard Church Foodbank to take centre stage and officially unveil the new B&M store.

Stour Valley Vineyard Church Foodbank give emergency food bags to local families and individuals in crisis through a referral system, partnering with a growing number of agencies in Sudbury and the surrounding areas. They provide simple food supplies, toiletries, household cleaners and even nappies.

B&M’s store manager also mentioned: “Stour Valley Vineyard Church Foodbank really stood out for us, so we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work they have done. We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”

Stour Valley Vineyard Church Foodbank took centre stage and officially opened the brand-new B&M store before colleagues opened the doors to the public and welcomed in their first customers.
