No Glasto? No Problem: 5 of the Best Festivals this Summer
10 July 2018
We’re quickly approaching festival season and, while there's no Glastonbury in 2018, there are still plenty of great events to head to where you can catch some of the best live music acts from across the globe!
There’s nothing better than dancing to your favourite artists while basking in the sunshine, so we’ve compiled the biggest and best upcoming festivals so you don’t miss out!
Lovebox – Friday 13th & Saturday 14th July, London
For lovers of hip-hop, grime and club music, this is the perfect festival. The two-day show in Gunnersbury Park in London features some big-name artists.
Childish Gambino headlines the festival while London’s very own Skepta is lined up to perform too!
Rap titans Wu-Tang Clan will be celebrating their 25th anniversary at the festival, while Annie Mac, Anderson .Paak and Diplo are just a few of the huge names on show at Lovebox.
B&M Top Tip: Tired of standing up for hours on end? Be sure to take your Compact Tripod Chair with you. It folds away, is lightweight and really easy to carry.
80s Fest – Sunday 14th July, Manchester
The 80s Fest is 10 hours of 80s music from the UK's best tribute bands!
These Smiths, UK Blondie and The Jam’D are the headliners, while Dare – the Human League Tribute are also performing.
For a cheaper way to watch your idols, this tribute-fest is a great alternative, and the perfect way to spend a Sunday!
Nozstock the Hidden Valley – Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd July, Herefordshire
If you want to mix it up a bit and see live comedy alongside the best music acts, then Nozstock is just for you.
Chase & Status headline the weekend-long festival, with Goldfrapp and Black Sun Empire performing too.
However, there's also a comedy stage where Reginald D Hunter is putting on a gig – what more could you want?!
B&M Top Tip: You'll need somewhere to set up camp for the night so grab a friend and pick up this 2-3 person Swiss Military tent. Don't forget your sleeping bag, too – you'll be dancing till the sun sets but it will soon get cold!
Penn Fest – Saturday 20th & Sunday 21st July, Amersham
A wide variety of music is on offer at Penn Fest, with Kaiser Chiefs the biggest name in the line-up.
They’re followed by Manic Street Preachers, Feeder, Lethal Bizzle, Gabrielle Aplin and Example, as well as Goldie Lookin’ Chain!
There’s also the best Oasis tribute band in the country, Noasis, to catch during the two-day event.
B&M Top Tip: If the sun is shining, you'll need to take plenty of sun cream. You'll likely be exposed for most of the day so applying sunscreen regularly is vital to ensure you don't burn!
South West Four – Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th August, Clapham
Arguably the biggest show of them all this summer, SW4 has some huge names to catch in London.
Dizzee Rascal leads the line-up, but there is also Marshmellow, Armin Van Buuren, Galantis, Benny Benassi and Armand van Helden – and that’s just the first day!
If you can make it to Sunday, Chase & Status, Craig David and Basement Jaxx are putting on a show.
