Make Your Garden Bloom with our Trellises, Planters & Garden Arches
24 April 2025
We love spring here at B&M. Our gardens start to emerge from their winter slumber, there are new buds on the trees and the first flowers of the year start to blossom. While planting up beds is always a valid way to bring some brightness into your garden, there are times when you need a bit more flexibility. Perhaps you only have limited outdoor space. Perhaps your garden is more paving and decking than flower beds. Or perhaps there’s just a specific corner where you really want to add some extra colour quickly and easily.
Whatever the reason, we’ve got you covered with our amazing selection of affordable planters, trellises, garden arches and arbour seats. Let’s have a look at some of our favourites!
For Balconies & Small Patios
Just because you have limited outdoor space, doesn’t mean there aren’t ways to fill that space with flowers. One of our favourite options is the Forest Kendal Square Wooden Garden Planter Set, which gives you not one, not two, but three mini-planters to play with. The largest measures 50cm x 50cm and the smallest 32cm x 32cm, providing versatility in a compact space. They have a lovely natural timber finish and come pre-assembled, so all you need to do is decide what flowers to plant and where to put them.
If hexagons or rectangles are more your kind of thing, then you’ll love the Forest York Hexagonal Wooden Planter Set or the Forest Durham Rectangular Garden Planter Set. They might need a tiny bit more room than their square cousins, but they both provide multiple levels and the opportunity to create a corner of colour in your outside space.
Turning our attention to trellises and the traditional Forest Wooden Garden Trellis Planter makes clever use of vertical growing space, so it’s a winner if you’ve got a spare wall or two. Like many of Forest’s products, this trellis comes with an impressive 15-year anti-rot guarantee, saving you time and money, and neat design features like pressure-treated bearers to raise the planter off the ground.
For a more modern aesthetic, we’d recommend the Forest Grey Painted Wooden Diamond Lattice Panel and it’s attractive two-tone design. The panel’s available in three widths and can be used for plants as well as privacy, giving you loads of options when it comes to bringing in those extra flowers.
For Larger Patios & Outdoor Areas
When you’ve got a bit more space to work with, either on a patio or in an outdoor area, our larger planters and trellises come into play. The Forest Large Deep Root Wooden Garden Planter is ideal for those long rooted plants that need a bit more room to breathe and holds a huge 350L of compost. We think it looks pretty great too, with a solid, well-built structure that’s raised off the ground to help make your gardening experience more comfortable (and give you a cheeky bit of extra storage space underneath!).
Or how about a planter on lockable wheels that you can position wherever you want and moved on a whim? That’s exactly what the Forest Linear Long Wooden Planter on Wheels offers, along with a sleek and smooth-planed natural finish. Flowers and plants will be right at home in this planter and its handy wheels mean you can transform your view in a moment.
In terms of trellises, you can’t go wrong with the Forest Venice Wooden Garden Planter. It’s dome-shaped diamond lattice gives climbing plants plenty to explore while the generous planting area means you can mix and match plants and flowers to your heart’s content. All in all, it’s a winning combination of trellis and planter that brings you the best of both worlds.
Finally, while raised beds are often used to grow fruit and veg, there’s nothing that says you can’t fill them with flowers instead! The easy-to-assemble Forest Caledonian range offers a couple of different sizes including 3ft x 3ft and 3ft x 6ft, as well as extra-thick 40mm timber and half-lap joints that help to provide a sturdy area that’s just waiting to be planted.
For Gardens & Lawns
If your garden has lots of space, perhaps with a lawn and winding pathways, then a garden arch or arbour seat could be the ideal way to create a space where climbing plants can thrive.
The Forest Classic Flat Top Wooden Garden Pergola is an economical archway with a traditional appearance and trellis side panels to get those plants growing. Alternatively, there’s the premium Forest Ultima Wooden Garden Pergola Arch, which also has trellis side panels along with a high-quality wooden frame, traditional roof batons and arches. Whichever you choose will frame pathways or entranceways within your garden to perfection and help you to create a stunning floral focal point.
You can achieve a similar result by investing in a garden arbour seat. One of the newest additions to the Forest line-up, the Forest Amalfia Wooden Garden Arbour Seat, combines seating, storage and slatted sides to give you and your plants somewhere to relax and grow. It can comfortably seat up to three, has ample storage space beneath the seat for cushions and other soft furnishings, and the slatted sides and roof are ideal for training climbing plants. With a bit of patience, you’ll be able to create a green, flowering archway that will not only look amazing, but that you can sit right in the middle of too, taking in the sights, sounds and smells of your garden.
