Monster Mash
Little ones can make monster masks with paper plates, paints, glitter, stickers and googly eyes! Why not take everyone out trick or treating with their creations afterwards?
Serve up “monster food” like hot dog “fingers” and monster cupcakes with candy corns for teeth.
B&M Top Tip: Dress your pets up as monstrous critters to add to the fun!
Murder Mystery
Send a schedule to guests’ email addresses encouraging them to pick an Agatha Christie-esque character to play a life-sized game of Cluedo. Don’t forget the crime scene tape!
Organise a murder mystery dinner party with themed tablecloths, cups, napkins and a few candles or tea lights.
B&M Top Tip: For extra style, go for a black and white dress code.
Day of The Dead
The Day of the Dead aesthetic combines bejewelled skulls with wonderful floral designs.
Encourage your guests to come dressed in bright colours with Mexican-inspired skull face-paint (why not include glow-in-the-dark elements too?). You can also incorporate the South American vibe into your refreshments.
B&M Top Tip: Give your Halloween bash a festival feel with gorgeous themed string lights.
Halloween Harvest
Autumn is the time of plenty, so why not have a harvest theme for your event? A carefully-supervised pumpkin carving party is great fun! Try bobbing for apples too.
B&M Top Tip: Decorate with seasonal bunting and balloons for a wholesome feel.
Disney Villains
Kids and adults alike love Disney, so a Disney villain party always goes down well.
Have everyone dress as their favourite villain, play Disney movies in the background and serve themed cocktails or mocktails in villain-themed glasses!
B&M Top Tip: Refer to the movies into your decor by including the pumpkin from Cinderella or the evil queen’s magic mirror.
Harry Potter
Harry Potter is a wildly popular theme for events - whether it’s halloween or a birthday party. Dress in house colours, decorate the space like the Great Hall - and set up a game of quidditch in the garden.
Add some spooky spiders in webs and a house ghost or two and you’ve got a party!
Medieval Malice
History lovers and Game of Thrones fans will thoroughly enjoy a medieval theme!
Enjoy a hearty feast with a few cups of mead, decorate with draping fabrics and dress as knights, princesses and outlaws.
B&M Top Tip: Add atmosphere with papier mache “heads on spikes” and hanging “skeletons”!
H2: Halloween Movies
Dress as your favourite goodies and baddies from Halloween movies and enjoy watching Freddie Kruger and Jack Skellington hang out in real life.
B&M Top Tip: Give a red-carpet welcome complete with lettered balloon banners, string light curtains and projections!
Costume Competition
Get a friendly contest going with a fancy-dress party which includes prizes for the best - or most creatively - dressed!
B&M Top Tip: Set up a “photobooth” to record the good times.
Now you have a range of ideas to choose from, from scary little monsters to medieval kings and queens! Take a look at our Halloween section for further inspiration!
