Essential Camping Equipment for UK Festival Season 2017

Summer is well and truly upon us (drizzle aside!), which can only mean one thing… it’s nearly time to pitch up your tent and don your flower headbands, because it’s officially festival season!

In preparation for festival season, we’ve put together this festival camping checklist, to make sure you don’t forget any essentials! After all, who wants to pay about 20 quid for some tent pegs whilst you’re there? Nobody!

So without further ado, here’s your shopping list for those Glastonbury essentials.

Pitch & Go Pop Up Tent - £29.99

Okay so you’re not going to get very far without an actual tent, and this easy-peasy pop up one is perfect for festival goers looking for something quick to pitch up! It’s small, but deceptively spacious. In fact, it can actually sleep up to 4 people - making it the perfect place for you and your mates to have a snooze after dancing all night long.

Adult Mummy Sleeping Bag - £9.99

Anyone who’s been to a festival before knows that it’s usually nice and warm during the day, only for the temperature to drop significantly once the sun goes down. We know you’ll probably not be getting much sleep, but this cozy sleeping bag means that when you do lay your head, you’ll actually catch some well-needed Z’s.

Inflatable Bed - £7.99

This one’s optional, but we challenge you to have a decent few hours’ kip if your tent is pitched over a couple of rocks hidden under the grass! This inflatable bed will save your back from any rocks, as well as the ground which can get pretty cold at night! For extra comfort, try this inflatable camping pillow too.

B&M Top Tip: Nobody wants to spend the first hour of a festival blowing up their bed. With this super cheap air pump, you’ll have it inflated in no time, leaving you to crack open the beers!

Folding Camping Chair - £5.99

Perfect for sitting and chatting to your mates at the tent, or for sitting and watching some of your favourite bands, this folding camping chair is less than six quid! The cup holder fits a can of beer or a bottle of water in perfectly, and it comes in a variety of bright colours too.

Pop Up Gazebo - £49.99

Forecast showers for your festival! Don’t worry - we’ve got you covered, literally. This pop up gazebo is perfect for carrying on the party when the heavens open. It’s also great for catching some shade when the sun’s beating down!

B&M Top Tip: It’s worth double checking on the festival website if you’re actually allowed gazebos before making this purchase.

Tartan Picnic Rug - £4.99

If you’re anything like us here at the B&M office, you probably spend quite a large proportion of your festival sat on the grass - whether that be chilling out drinking some beers or watching bands. This tartan green picnic rug folds up so it’s easy to carry round with you, and keeps your fabulous festival clothes free of grass stains!
