From cute bunny ears to decorative eggs that are perfect for an Easter egg hunt in your garden or the local park. Having Easter themed decorations that tie in perfectly with your home’s celebrations make the season even more enjoyable.
We’ve put together our favourite Easter decorations you can make at home with affordable materials.
Decorative Easter eggs
Placing pretty decorative Easter eggs around your home and outside spaces are perfect for an Easter egg hunt.
Grab a carton of eggs for this DIY easter decoration, but if you have younger children around, maybe opt for the plastic version!
Then, simply decorate them for the occasion by drawing pretty designs along the shell using paints and felt tip pens - whether that’s a cute pattern or a drawing of the Easter bunny! To make them extra special, use a variety of colours and glue to attach some glitter and sparkle to your decorative Easter eggs.
You can even create small characters. Draw a beak, some eyes and a couple of feathers to make your egg look like a little chick!
Bunny Ears
Get into the spirit of Easter with some cute bunny ears.
Using old headbands, this DIY Easter decoration takes just two steps. Grab two different colours of card and cut into ear shapes, making sure one of the colours is a little bit smaller. Stack these on top of each other and glue them together.
Then, simply fold the end of each ear around the bottom of the headband and glue into place!
Table Runner
Before you sit down to enjoy your Easter roast dinner, have an Easter table runner ready to decorate the table with.
This DIY Easter decoration is great for getting all of your loved ones involved, having them decorate their own place at the table using a variety of arts and crafts. Sticking down folded crepe paper to look like Spring flowers, Easter chicks nestled amongst them and surrounded by coloured in decorative eggs to create an Easter feast for the eyes.
DIY Presents for Easter Guests
Go one step further with your hosting skills this Easter and give all of your guests their very own Easter bonnet.
Using an Easter bonnet kit, decorate the traditional hat with your guests’ favourite colours. Add on a few pom-poms, ribbons and some decorative eggs along the brim of the hat.
Front Door Wreath
Don’t stop there in your DIY Easter decoration efforts!
Greet your guests with some sparkle and share the Easter celebrations with your neighbours by decorating the outside of your home too.
You could hang a simple Easter wreath on your door, but why not make it a little fancier? Using Easter egg foliage, drape the decor around your window sills, your door frame and spruce up any wreath you’ve already placed on the door.
If that’s not enough for you, pop some of the decorated Easter eggs from earlier around your flower beds, or add a string to hang them from your door handles.
