Christmas Tree Decorating Ideas - Inspired by Pinterest
05 December 2016
It’s officially December, and that means that we can finally get super excited about Christmas without getting dirty looks off people who aren’t as… shall we say… festive. So far on our blog we’ve shown you some of Pinterest’s best Christmas cocktails, handmade Christmas card ideas, plus many more festive hacks to make this season the best one yet. So we thought it was only fitting to make ‘Christmas Tree Decorating Ideas’ our first blog of December.
Christmas tree decorating doesn’t have to be a daunting task, it can be fun too. So grab yourself a delicious hot chocolate (or a mulled wine!), and take a look at some of Pinterest’s best Christmas tree decorating ideas. You never know - you might just find your next source of inspiration!
Buffalo Checks Galore
Christmas tree colour schemes don’t have to be all reds and golds, if you prefer the black and white minimalist style, you can still make your tree look AMAZING with this guide from the incredibly talented home blogger, Destiny. The great thing about this guide is that she creates Christmas tree decorations from items found around the house, so you don’t have to go out and spend a fortune on expensive arts and crafts materials.
Advent Calendar Tree
This one’s especially great if you have kids (or big kids!), but it’s also fantastic for keeping track of how much time you have left to prepare for the big day. It also features buckets of presents around the tree base, as well as simple white containers for each advent calendar gift that hangs from the tree. The blogger says that she found some numbers and painted them, but we think that using some red paint and drawing them on would work just as well! Besides, your Christmas tree colour schemes don’t have to be the same as everyone else’s.
Criss Cross
If you’d like to decorate your tree in a more traditional way this Christmas, but you still want to be a bit different, consider using criss cross ribbon. This is actually really easy to do, and should only take you around 20-30 minutes. All you need is a roll of wired ribbon, craft wire or bread tie and a pair of scissors, and you’re good to go! We can guarantee your guests will be asking you how you did it.
Minimal Chic
Often the most beautiful Christmas trees are the most simple ones. Classy and elegant, this Scandinavian-inspired tree is perfect for those looking to create a bit of festive spirit in their homes, but without the clutter. The beauty of this design is that you can add any sorts of Christmas tree decorations you want, just keep them to minimum. We love the black and white wrapping paper, too!
The No Christmas Tree
Inspiration taken from: sheerluxe.com
If you live in a small space, or are just sick of hoovering up annoying (and sometimes painful!) pine needles, why not try a ‘no’ Christmas tree this year? This means exactly what it says on the tin - you sacrifice your traditional Christmas tree for something a little different, but just as festive. These are perfect if, like many pet owners, your dog or cat likes to treat your tree as a luxury toilet! We absolutely love these ideas, especially the light-up twig trees.
We can’t get enough of these Christmas tree decorating ideas, and we’d love to see some of yours! Take some pictures of your Christmas tree colour schemes and creations and post them to our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts so we can see just how talented our customers are.
