B&M and Procter & Gamble have raised £55,000 from their fundraising campaign to support a new neo-natal unit at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
Our partnership with Procter & Gamble kicked off in June this year, with a 5p donation from every sale of selected P&G products going directly to Alder Hey Children’s Charity.
And our wonderful B&M customers did not disappoint. By simply picking up their everyday essentials from brands like Fairy, Daz and Pampers, they helped raise funds for Alder Hey’s brand new neo-natal intensive care unit (NICU).
The donation will contribute to enhancing a parent’s room within the new NICU. It will be the first of its kind in the UK to offer private and secure accommodation for parents which will be attached to their baby’s room, ensuring that families can stay together throughout treatment. The dedicated parent rooms, with beds, windows and en-suite facilities, are attached to the baby’s room and will be a non-clinical space which can either be separated from or opened to join with the clinical cot space, depending on the needs of the parents and the baby.

The funds will help thousands of parents with vulnerable babies, like Frankie who was born in March this year with Gastroschisis, a condition that occurs when a baby is born with the bowel coming through an opening in the abdomen.
The total raised from in-store purchases came to a resounding £30,203, while P&G contributed a further £24,797 to the Alder Hey appeal, bringing the total amount donated by P&G and B&M shoppers to £55,000.
From everyone here at B&M, we’d like to say a huge THANK YOU to our generous customers for their support in raising such an incredible amount.
