B&M’s donation to help the homeless in Manchester

Last Christmas B&M donated £20,000 to Mustard Tree, to help them continue to support the homeless in Manchester.
Homelessness in the city is increasing so it is vital that projects are put in place to give those living on the streets the support they need, with the long-term aim of getting them employment and a house to live in.
B&M’s donation to Mustard Tree has enabled them to continue with providing food parcels, operating their soup run and food club, as well as provide counselling.
Adrian Nottingham, CEO of Mustard Tree said: “The need for Mustard Tree is greater today than it ever has been. Receiving such a generous donation from B&M will have a significant effect on our future projects as it would allow us to plan further ahead; enabling us to remain sustainable against the backdrop of a shrinking public sector economy.
“We value every offer of support and every donation, being acutely aware that we couldn't continue to make a difference in the lives of those who come to us for help without the partnership of like-minded people.’’
B&M Area Manager, Melanie Roper, said: “My team chose Mustard Tree because the amazing work they do for the homeless needs recognising and rewarding. Homelessness is such a huge issue in Manchester and it’s great that our stores will be able to help local homeless people who depend on fantastic charities like the Mustard Tree.”
