11 September 2014
B&M invited some very special guests to the opening of its second store in Penrith last Saturday.
The 25,000sq ft store on Bridge Lane in the town was officially opened by Chairman of Eden Council, Councillor Thompson and ‘local hero’ Max Fuchs. Max was nominated for his work at the Edington Centre Penrith for Adults with Learning Disabilities. Over the last 21 years, he has been taking the adults out in his own time as well as taking groups from the Friendship support group run by the council to events across the North East.
Tony Downey B&M’s Store Manager at Penrith Bridge Lane said: “We’re really proud to be opening another store in Penrith, creating additional jobs and continuing to play our part in the local community. Thank you to everyone who joined us for the grand opening and made it such a fun day.”
